She was born March 29, 1897 in Taopi, Minnehaha, South Dakota,6960 and died February 9, 1962 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota.74 She is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato, Blue Earth, Minnesota.456

He married (2) ESTHER MELVINA COLTON on June 15, 1963 in Minnehaha County, South Dakota,501 daughter of PAULINA JANE MILLER and JOHN EDMUND COLTON. She was born February 25, 1900 in Taopi, Minnehaha, South Dakota,6960 and died February 21, 1986 in South Dakota.456 She is buried in Colton Cemetery, Minnehaha County, South Dakota.456

Colton-Todnem Wedding Event of Tuesday

Of interest to many in Minnehaha county will be the announcement that the marriage of Miss Helen Colton, daughter of Mrs. P. J. Colton and Louis Todnem of Winona, Minn., will take place Tuesday March 22 at the bride's home in Colton.

The bride, who has been honored at many pre-nuptial courtesies is a graduate of the normal department of the Dakota Wesleyan university at Mitchell, and for the past two years has been ? ? work at Colton. Mr. Todnem was a lieutenant in the world war. He graduated from Dakota Wesleyan university in the class of 1920. The past year he was football coach and one of the science instructors in Winona high school. He won special honors in the ? Kappa Delta fraternity, represented D. W> U. in four intercollegiate debates. He was a well known football player and was president of the Y. M. C. A. at D. W. U. in 1919.

After their marriiage, the couple will live at Winona.

Esther Todnem

COLTON — Esther Colton Todnem, 85, Colton, died Friday in the Dell Rapids Community Hospital.

Esther Colton was born Feb. 25, 1900, in Colton. She was the daughter of John E. and Paulina Colton, who founded the city of Colton. She grew up in Colton and was graduated from Colton High School, and later from Dakota Wesleyan. She spent 25 years teaching in South Dakota, the last 18 years of which shes taught at Britton High School. She married Louis Todnem June 15, 1963, in Colton. Mrs. Todnem received the outstanding teacher award in 1961 from the South Dakota School of Mines. She was a member of the Colton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three nephews; and eight nieces.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church, Colton. Burial will be in the Colton Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today in the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Colton.
