Dean-Shannon—

Cards have been received here from Mr. and Mrs. William M. Shannon, of Philadelphia, announcing the marriage of their daughter, Miss Jane Crowe Shannon to Mr. Edward Paige Dean, on June 10 at the home of the brides parents.

Mr. Dean, who is a son of Mrs. William, of Boston and Harrisonburg, is a native of Harrisonburg and is well known here. He attended Harrisonburg High School for several years and then entered Augusta Military Academy where he was graduated. After graduating from A. M. A., Dr. Dean entered Boston Tech where he graduated in Electrical Engineering.

GREENWOOD — Edward P. Dean Sr., of 449 Grace St., husband of Jane Shannon Dean, died Saturday at Self Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are wife of the home; sons, Edward P. Dean J. of Cherrard, Ill., William J. Dean of Greenwood; sister, Mrs. Virginia Haguey of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mrs. Sarah Farley of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection by the Rev. William L. Hicks.

Blyth Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, to St. Nicholas Speech and Hearing Center or to the United Heart Fund.

Jane Dean

GREENWOOD — Jane Shannon Dean, 97, formerly of 449 Grace Street, widow of Edward Page Dean Sr., died April 2, 2001, at Wesley Commons.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Candice Shannon and a graduate of Philadelphia School of Design for Women. A member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, she was a volunteer with the Alter Guild of the church and the Wise Penny for St. Nicholas Speech and Hearing.

Survivors include two sons, Edward Page Dean Jr. of Sharrad, Ill., and William James Dean of Frenchtown, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
