MARY JO DUNNINGTON, daughter of JESSIE AUGUSTA JOLLIFFE and IRVINE LOTT DUNNINGTON, was born May 18, 1928 in Fairmont, Marion, West Virginia,⁹⁰ and died August 17, 2006 in Lancaster, Fairfield, Ohio.^{90, 12921} She is buried in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster, Fairfield, Ohio.⁴⁵⁶

She married EUGENE ADAIR EVANS. He was born April 8, 1926 in Lancaster, Fairfield, Ohio,⁷³⁷⁷ and died December 26, 1997 in Lancaster, Fairfield, Ohio.⁷⁶³ He is buried in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster, Fairfield, Ohio.⁴⁵⁶

Gene Evans

Gene "Jiggs" Evans, 71, Lancaster, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at Fairfield Medical Center.

He was a retired self-employed builder/contractor and realtor with Coldwell-Banker Realty Inc. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, American Legion Post 11, Lancaster Board of Realtors, Chairman Board of Red Cross and worked with the YMCA on Life Saving and Water Safety instruction. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Jo Evans; sons and daughters-in-law, rick and Julie Evans of Columbus and Andy and Lynne Evans of Lancaster; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Dan Tedrick of Lancaster; and three grandchildren, Christopher Evans, Daniel Tedrick and Allen Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George J. and Iona Evans; and two brothers, Jack and Jim.

Funeral service will be held1 p.m. Monday at the Sheridan Funeral Home with the Very Rev. Harry B. Sherman officiating. Burial at Forest Rose Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

LANCASTER: Mary Jo Evans, 88 of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1928 in Fairmont, WV, daughter of the late Irvine and Jessie (Joliff) Dunnington. She was retired from Mt. Pleasant Greenhouse and had also worked at Risch Drug Store after her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Julie) Evans, of Clintonville, Andy (Lynne) Evans, of Lancaster, and Lori (Dan) Tedrick, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel and Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Evans in 1997; sister, Betty Jane Wessel; brothers, Irvine "Bud", Richard, and Robert "Bob" Dunnington.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2015 at Sheridan Funeral Home with Fr. Bill Pursley officiating. Interment following at Forest Rose Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Family requests memorial contributions to the Maywood Mission Food Pantry, 1029 S.
