Mrs. Enid Strong, age 51, 10405 Bellefontaine, wife of Charles, mother of John Robinson, Daughter of Mrs. Anna Engle, sister of George Engle, also survived by 4 grandchildren, passed away Sunday. Funeral Wednesday 3 p.m. at the J. C. Wilson Chapel of the Chimes, 1234 Prospect. Friends invited. Friends may call.
George passed away peacefully in his home at Mara Villa on November 21, 2017 at age 91. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Della in 2006.
Santa Barbara was his birthplace but he spent his youth over the mountain in Paradise where he attended a one room schoolhouse, roamed the hills, fished and hunted whenever possible and usually brought home dinner. He attended SB high school and later moved back to SB where he started a family with his first wife Ethel.
All through his life he was an avid outdoorsman hunting for wild boar and deer in the back hills, or hiking. He spent much time fishing and diving for abalone off the coast and rode motorcycles and dirt bikes for many years. He made trips down thru Mexico and up thru northern Alberta with his buddies.
After 35 years at the Telephone Co. an early retirement in 1981 gave him and Della time for many trips in their trailer to explore and enjoy nature especially up the coast where they’d end up in BC.
He is survived by daughters Susan and Roberta, son Dale, and stepson Jon.12552
