WAYNESBORO — Mrs. Lee Pforr, of Waynesboro, announces the marriage of her daughter, Elizabeth Jane, to William Hurt Ervine, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Ervine, of Brownsburg, Thursday, July 4, at 6:30 o'clock at the Waynesboro Baptist Church parsonage. The Rev. Dr. Pierce S. Ellis, pastor, officiated.

The bride wore a white eyelet street length dress with white accessories and an orchard corsage.

Her maid of honor and only attendant was Miss Maggie W. Pforr, her sister, also of Waynesboro. Her costume was blue and she wore white accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds.

Charles D. Pirkey, of this city, was best man.

The couple will be at home in Richmond after July 12.

Ervine

William H. Ervine, Sr., 60, of 3714 Southland died late Wednesday September 15, 1982 in Audie Murphy Hospital in San Antonio after a long illness.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Emmanual Episcopal Church with Rector Norman Griffith officiating.

Ervine was born Sept. 13, 1922 in Brownsburg, Va.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth of San Angelo; one son William H. Ervine, Jr. of San Angelo; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Martin of Raphine, Va., Mrs. Hope Jones of Staunton, Va.; one brother, John Ware Ervine of Grassville, Calif; four granddaughters.

ELIZABETH "PETE" ERVINE

Elizabeth "Pete" Ervine, 78, of San Angelo, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 709 p.m. Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home for family and friends. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18th, at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church with the Rev. John W. Reynolds pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Elizabeth was born May 22, 1924, in Augusta County, Va., to Leland E. and Fannie Bell Pforr.

Elizabeth retired from General Electric and moved to Texas. She worked at the State School in Carlsbad and as an election judge and worker. She also worked at The Heritage Haus and loved playing bridge. She was a member of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was married to William H. Ervine Sr. on July 4, 1946, in Waynesboro, Va. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1982.

Survivors include her son, William H. Ervine Jr. of Houston; granddaughters, Ellen Ervine Kay of Reading, UK, and Hally E. Ervine, Anne L. Ervine and Lisa C. Ervine, all of Houston; great-granddaughter, Margaret Ellen Kay of Reading, UK; sisters, Maggie P. Sutton, Ruth M. Shiflett and Agnes Wichael, all of Waynesboro, Va.; brothers, Herman D. Pforr of Big Spring, Melvin Pforr of Quincy, Mass., and Douglas Pforr of Waynesboro, Va., and Sharon L. Ervine of Houston.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of San Angelo, Jean Slaughter and Sister Brigid Mollaghan for their care and compassion.

Honorary pallbearers will be Maxine Long, Bernice Canada, Betsy Thackerson, Patty Pickett, Jean Easley, Teena Smith and Betty Smotherman.

Memoril can be made to Hospice of San Angelo or the Humane Society of Tom Green County.
