JOHN WEIR ERVINE

LEXINGTON, VA., Dec. 9—Funeral services for John Wier Ervine, 65, were conducted from the home Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. C. M. Hanna, with burial in New Providence Cemetery. Mr. Ervine died suddenly Monday evening. He was the son of John H. and Ellen Weir Ervine. Most of his life was spent on the farm where he died. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Mr. Ervine is survived by his widow, formerly Miss Stella Hurt, and five children, Ellen, Adelaide, Hope, John and Billy; and two sisters, Miss Bessie Ervine and Mrs. D. J. Whipple of Brownsburg.

BROWNSBURG — Stella Hurt Ervine, 87, widow of John Weir Ervine, died Saturday in a Staunton hospital.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James Hogge, Gloucester Point, Mrs. Henry W. Martin, Raphine, Mrs. W. Kermit Jones, Staunton; two sons, John W. Ervine, Grass Valley, Calif., William Hurt Ervine, Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. Henry Lee King, Franklin County.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington, is handling arrangements.
