Last Thursday, occurred the wedding of Miss Carlie O., only daughter of S. W. Bedient and wife, and W. B. Ford, of Worcester, Mass., the Rev. M. O. VanKeuron officiating. Miss Bedient was one of the first graduates from our high school and has since taught several terms of school with marked success. She has spent nearly all her life in our village and has friends by the score who will unite in wishing her and her husband much joy, prosperity and happiness as they sail down the stream of life together. They will make their future home in Worcester, Mass.

Well Known Newspaper Man Passed Away

Walter B. Ford, Little Valley newspaper man, was found dead in his bed at his home in Boston Mass, last Tuesday according to unconfirmed reports received by relatives in Little Valley. The body is being sent home, but pending its arrival funeral arrangements cannot be made.

Mr. Ford, who is well known in this section, was about 40 years of age. He had served on newspapers throughout this section, and at the time of his death was on the staff of the Boston American. For a time he was the Salamanca representative of the Olean Times. Early in the World War he enlisted with a Canadian regiment, and served a considerable time with troops holding Archangel, and later on the Pacific coast of Siberia.

He leaves his widow, Carlie Bedient Ford, formerly also of Little Valley and two children, Donald and Beth May, both at home.—Republican Press, Jan. 28

Mrs. Carlie B. Ford

LITTLE VALLEY, Feb. 8—Mrs. Carlie B. Ford, 76, of 305 Rock City St., here, died Thursday in her home. She had been ill about a week. She was a retired rural grade teacher.

Born in the Town of Mansfield, she taught 25 years, retiring 20 years ago. She lived in Little Valley most of her life. For 30 years she was head of the educational department of the Cattaraugus County Fair.

Surviving are a son, Donald W.; a daughter, Mrs. Beth Gordon of Dayton, O. and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Van Rensselaer Funeral Home, with burial in the Rural Cemetery, Little Valley.
