SALAMANCA — Glenn C. Foy, 69, prominent retired merchant of Salamanca, died suddenly Thursday evening at the family home, 44 High Street, Salamanca. Mr. Foy had been a patient in St. Francis Hospital, Olean, and had been apparently recovering from an illness, when death occurred as result of coronary thrombosis while he was watching television at his home.
He was born May 19, 1884 in East Randolph and he first came to Salamanca 53 years ago in 1900.
Mr. Foy started in business as a clerk with the McCabe Brothers, and for 46 years was connected with the Walwrath-Stevens Co., and later took over the business with Calvin Loucks. Mr. Foy was president of the business. He retired on July 1, 1948, from active service.
Mr. Foy served on a Board of Education Commission of Salamanca Schools for 18 years. He was a past vice president of the Rotary Club, of which he was a charter member, past commander of the Salamanca Commandery No. 62 K. T., a member of the Salamanca Chapter 266 R.A.M. and Cattaraugus Lodge No. 239 F. & A. M., and a member of the Ismailia Temple A.A.O.N.M.S, Buffalo. He was also a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Salamanca.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Vale Foy; two sons, Jay Vale Foy, Moscow, Idaho, and Louis C. Foy, Bolivar, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Joel S. Foy and Jud Louis Foy.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday from the family home, 44 High Street, Salamanca, and at 5 P.M. that day from St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Salamanca. Rev. Ronald Morissey, pastor of the St. Mary's Episcopal Curch, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in East Randolph cemetery, East Randolph, N.Y.

Glenn C. Foy, father of Louis Foy, faculty member of Bolivar Central School and lifeguard at Moore Pool, died thursday, July 23, 1953, at his home in Salamanca from a heart attack. Services were held in Salamanca Sunday, July 26, with burial in the East Randolph Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Anna V. Foy, and two sons, J. Vail Foy of Moscow, Idaho and Louis Foy of Bolivar.
Mr. Foy had been in the grocery business for 48 years in Salamanca before retiring in 1946.

SALAMANCA—Mrs. Anna V. Foy, 70, of 44 High Street, died Friday morning (Jan. 29, 1960) in Byron Nursing Home, Randolph, where sje jad been a patient for the past eighteen months.
Mrs. Foy was born April 18, 1889 in Steamburg. She was the widow of Glenn C. Foy who died July 23, 1963.
She was a member of the Newman reading Circle, the Utopian Club, Catholic Daughters of America and the Federation of Women's Clubs of which she was a former secretary.
Survivors are two sons, J. Vail Foy of Moscow, Ida., and Louis C. Foy of Salamanca; five grandchildren; two brothers, Fracis Vail of Randolph and Paul Vail of Cleveland, O., and severa cousins.
Friends may call at the family home, 44 High Street, Salamanca after 3 P.M. Saturday.
A Rosary service will be held at 9 A.M. Monday at the family home. A requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church, Salamanca. Buril will be in East Randolph Cemetery, East Randolph. O'Rourke and O'Rourke Funeral Home, Salamanca is in charge of arrangements.
