DEATH SUMMONS MRS. JOEL GARST

LIFELONG RESIDENT OF THIS COUNTY DIES OF COMPLICATION OF DISEASES.

ILL FOR TWO YEARS

Devout Member of Brethren Church and Charitably Inclined—Funeral to be Held Monday Morning.

Mrs. Joel Garst, aged 57 years, died at her home on the Vernon pike just outside the city limits, Friday evening at 4:20 o'clock of complication of diseases. Her illness extended over a period of two years.

Anna Stambaugh, daughter of William and Eliza Stambaugh, was born in Wabash county June 21, 1860, and spent practically her entire lifetime in this county. She was united in marriage to Joel Garst December 9, 1882, four children being born to this union. One child died in infancy, and the eldest, the wife of Claude Weimar, passed away May 14, 1911.

The deceased was a member of the Brethren church and until her illness was always active in her church duties. She possessed a strong christian character, always thinking of the welfare of others and assisting those in need of help.

Survivng are her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Winifred Bright, and her son Frank Garst of Grant county, four sisters, Mrs. Henry Frantz, Mrs. Chas. Kessler, Mrs. John Garst and Mrs. Mary Cannon of St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, beginning at 10:30 o'clock, at Mt. Vernon. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
