DEFORREST GAY WEDS MISS VIOLA HAGGLUND
A wedding took place in Des Moines yesterday that is of interest to Essex people because the contracting parties were at one time Essex residents, in fact lived here for a number of years.
The wedding was that of Mr. DeForrest Gay to Miss Viola Hagglund and was solemnized in that home that has been prepared for them last evening at eight o'clock, the officiating minister being Rev. Medberry a former pastor of Shenandoah. The wedding was a private one and witnessed only be a few close friends, Miss Gertrude Gay sister of the groom going from here.
DeForrest is the oldest son of w. D. Gay of this city and a young man of excellent habits. He holds a very good position in Des Moines, being teacher of violin in the public schools of the capital city.
His bride is the daughter of Mrs. Emil Hagglund of Red Oak and is a young lady of pleasing appearance and winsome ways. She is a teacher in one of the high schools in Des Moines.
The happy young couple are receiving the hearty congratulations and good wishes of a host of friends.
