SELWYN GAY MARRIES

Selwyn, the youngest son of W. D. Gay stopped in the city a few hours July 4th accompanying him was his bride of a few days.

Selwyn is well known to all Essex people and his many friends wish him well.

He is night clerk in one of the hotels at St. Joseph, Missouri.

SELWYN GAY LEAVES FOR CALIFORNIA

Selwyn Gay left Essex Tuesday morning for California where he expects to engage in the hotel business. Since his graduation from the schools here Selwyn has been engaged in hotel work in Lincoln and had worked up to a very fine position, but he has decided that he would try the west and if he likes it there will make that place his home. We certainly extend our best wishes for his success.

Essex Jeweler Drops Dead.

The Essex community was shocked Sunday afternoon when the word went out that Selwyn Gay, 36, jeweler of that city, had dropped dead while walking about the yard at his home.

Mr. Gay had been employed at the Replogle jewelry store in Shenandoah since early summer, and prior to that he had been night clerk at the Delmonico hotel in Shenandoah for several years. He had been a resident of Essex all of his life, residing the the house where he was born. He was a son of W. D. Gay, former Essex jeweler, and is survived by his wife and two young sons.
