He married HENRIETTA BALLOU in August, 1870 in Ashland, Saunders, Nebraska,²¹ daughter of SUSAN CAROLINE VAN BUREN and EMOR SMITH BALLOU. She was born November 22, 1855 in Kingsville, Ashtabula, Ohio,^{21, 2887} and died June 21, 1924 in Wahpeton, Richland, North Dakota.^{456, 21, 9300} She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing, Goodhue, Minnesota.⁴⁵⁶

Mr. Jonathan S. Green died on Tuesday morning last at his home in Red Wing, Minnesota, aged seventy-seven years. Mr. Green, who many years ago resided in Kent county, Delaware, near Marydel, is remembered by many of the older residents of Marydel and Kent county, as well as by many people in Caroline county. He went West when a very young man. About thirty years ago he visited his brother, Mr. Thos. R. Green, who then lived in Marydel. Mr. Green is survived by Mrs. Green, a son and a daughter.
