Lucean B. Stanley of Ashland, Neb., has invented a brake for elevators. It consists of an automatic grip, which takes hold of the girder on the sides of the elevator shaft when the cable breaks or becomes slack. It is also provided with spiral springs that take up the slack if the cable becomes loose. Mr. Stanley solicits correspondence with manufacturers.—N. Y. Tribune, Jan. 5, 1898

L. B. Stanley has disposed of his interests here and will shortly move to a new location in Indiana, where he will resume his former business, that of railroad contractor. W. N. Becker, jr. purchased the farm of 77 acres northeast, and W. J. Bryan purchased the home place just north of the city. We regret to lose Mr. Stanley as a citizen, and wish him prosperity and success in his new location.

A. D. Stanley and family arrived in the city from Indiana the fore part of the week with their household effects and we understand will remain till Spring, when they will move onto a farm in Merrick county, having traded their eastern property for a farm there. We also are informed that L. B. Stanley will return to Nebraska in the spring. One who once gets in touch with Nebraska is always impelled to return if once they are allured away.

A true formula should have three essentials. First, it should give quick relief; second, it should destroy germs of disease, and third, it should build up new tissue.
The first is to insure the necessary confidence that the sufferer must have in the remedy. Second, is to completely eliminate the cause of the diseased condition, and the third is to build up new tissue to give nature a change to invigorate every organ of the body.
That this is what Plant Juice, the new herbal stomach remedy, is doing is being demonstrated every day by the numerous testimonials received from every city where it has been introduced. Since Plant Juice has been introduced in Cleveland, scores of local people have testified to benefits received. Recently the signed statement was received from Mr. L. B. Stanley, who resides at 905 East 149th St., Cleveland. Mr. Stanley has lived here for 40 years and is a prominent Contractor and Builder, and is well known throughout the city. He stated:
"My wife has been a sufferer from stomach trouble, indigestion, dyspepsia and rheumatism for 25 years. I have had to bathe her in alcohol and witch hazel for seven months, for she was bedfast. She had pains in her shoulders and back and was very nervous. The least little noise would annoy her, and I even had to stop the clock on account of it ticking. Her stomach was so bad that her food did not digest, and she would bloat from the gas. I read in the papers where Plant Juice had cured some of our Cleveland friends and she has decided to try it. She has not taken almost three bottles, and I can say that she can now sleep at nights, where previously she went an entire week without sleep. She eats fine, and her stomach no longer pains her. In fact, her general health has improved 75 per cent, since taking your medicine and she no longer suffers from aches or pains. We most certainly indorse Plant Juice."
