Obituary.

Miss Josephine Hall, the daughter of Colbrath and Sarah Hall was born in Warren Co., Feb. 22, 1843, and departed this life Feb. 11, 1911. Her early life was spent on the farm South of West Lebanon with her parents, but on the breaking of the home she made her home in LaFayette for a time with her sister and later in Indianapolis with her nephew, G. C. Hall, at whose home she died.

She was a devoted member of the M. E. church, and one of the most faithful type. She had a keen clear mind and sweet spirit, always of a cheerful frame of mind.

Her efforts and help in the Sunday school will be an influence to be felt for years to come as she was the untiring teacher of the primary class for a number of years. She was also a staunch advocate of the temperance cause and took a lively interest in the political issues of the day.

She has been a sufferer for the last three years but was always patient and brave through it all. Her constant prayer was "that she might be brave" and continually gave testimony in a saving faith in God, and an eternal hope of Heaven. The end came peacefully and calmly and it seemed that she simply went to sleep in this world to awaken in the next. While her sickness was of the most distressing nature, it being cancer of the bowels, yet she was lifted above the excruciating pain by her continual holding on to God.

She is survived by two sisters viz Mrs. Henrietta Hollway, now living at Pallasias, Texas and Mrs. Flora McWilliams of Lake Charles La., also by a host of nieces and nephews and innumerable friends who will always cherish a loving memory of her.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church, this place, Feb. 14th and burial made in the family lot in the West Lebanon cemetery. Rev. Cramer officiated.
