ONE OF CITY'S OLDEST PEOPLE PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, 95, Succumbs At Home of Her Daughter.

Streator's oldest woman resident, Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, mother of Mrs. Robert I. Hoobler, 403 South Sterling street, who on January 28 of this year passed here ninety-fifth birthday, passed away suddenly yesterday morning, a victim of the current heat wave, according to the attending physician.

Mrs. Hall, who had retired Saturday evening at her customary hour in a very good state of health, was found dead at seven o'clock when her daughter went to call her. Indications pointed to the fact that she had been dead for several hours, and that she had peacefully passed away.

Interesting Citizen.

The death of Mrs. Hall takes away one of Streator's most interesting citizens. She has been a resident here for thirty-three years. Up to the time of her death she enjoyed health remarkable to one her age, and retained the use of all her faculties, while her interest in her daughter's household, her church activities and her friends was that of a woman many years less old than she.

Mrs. Hall was born January 28, 1838 in Montgomery county, Indiana, near the city of Crawfordsville. As Elizabeth Hall she was united in marriage May 28, 1868, to William I. Hall, a doctor of Gressie, Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. Hall established their home in Gessie where Doctor Hall passed away February 22, 1897. Three years later, Mrs. Hall came to Streator and since has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hoobler.

She was particularly known to the people of the southeast section of the city, and to circles of the Park Presbyterian church of which she was a devout member.

Three Children Survive.

Mrs. Hall is survived by three children: Wendall V. Hall, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Dr. William B. Hall, Danville, Illinois; Mrs. Robert Hoobler, Streator. There are five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Short funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at nine o'clock at the Hoobler residence. The remains will then be taken to Gessie, Indiana, where services will be held at the U. B. Church, with the Rev. Edgar W. Smith of the Streator Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Hicks Cemetery, four miles distant near Perryville, Indiana, where Mrs. Hall's husband is interred.
