Harwood-Hoobler

Miss Elizabeth Hoobler, of Streator, and R. J. Harwood, of Manville, were married at 5 o'clock last evening by Rev. R. S. McCown, at the Presbyterian manse, on North Mill street. They were unaccompanied. The young couple left on the Hummer for points in the southern part of the state where they will spend their honeymoon.

Rev. Robert Harwood

STREATOR — The Rev. Robert Harwood, 81, Hindsboro, a Livingston County native and mayor of Hindsboro, died Thursday morning at Douglas Manor, Tuscola. He had been ill for 1 1/2 years.

His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Tabor Funeral Home, Oakland, the Rev. Ben Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery, Rowe.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Harwood was born Dec. 27, 1900, in Newton Township, a son of Oliver and Lydia Koehler Harwood. He married Elizabeth Hoobler.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Johnson, Topeka, Kan.; and four grandchildren.

A daughter and a brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Harwood was a United Methodist minister and served several churches in Central Illinois, including those at Cropsey and Ellsworth. He retired in 1968. He also was employed for many years at Owens-Illinois Inc., glass container division, Streator.

Memorials may be made to Douglas Manor, Tuscola, or to the Preachers Aid Society, Decatur.

Elizabeth D. Harwood

STREATOR — Elizabeth D. Harwood, 87, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of the Streator area, died Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1988) in a Topeka hospital.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church Apartments, Topeka. A private family graveside service will be in Rowe Cemetery, Rowe.

There will be no visitation. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Topeka, has charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harwood was born July 10, 1900, near Streator, a daughter of Robert I. and Mary H. Hall Hoobler. She married Robert J. Harwood.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Johnson, Topeka, Kan.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

One daughter and one brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Harwood was a member of the First Christian Church of Topeka. She had lived in Topeka since 1979.
