Retired Mail Carrier Dies At Age of 77

Lawrence Eugene Holler, 77, a retired U. S. mail carrier and resident of Filer for 36 years, died at 5:35 a.m. Saturday in Magic Valley Memorial hospital.

Mr. Holler was born Dec. 24, 1879, at Wapello, Ia. He was a rural mail carrier in Utah and Idaho for 43 years. At the time of his death his address was route 1, Filer.

He married Vivian Pettyjohn on June 30, 1908, in Utah. Survivors other than Mrs. Holler are three daughters, Mrs. Erma Dodge, Olympia, Wash.; Mrs. Beth Schuyler, Filer, and Mrs. Iva Lou Burgess, Twin Falls; two sons, Eugene Holler, Palmdale, Calif., and Lawrence Holler, jr., with the U.S. army in Germany; two brothers, Howard Holler, Avenal, Calif., and John Wilbur Holler, San Diego; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lohr, McAllen, Tex., and Mrs. Harriet McDaniels, Twin Falls, and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at White mortuary chapel by the Rev. Norman Schaffer of the Mennonite church, Filer. Concluding services will be conducted in the Filer IOOF cemetery.

Vivian Holler

FILER — Mrs. Vivian Faye Holler, 83, Filer, died of a long illness early Monday at a Buhl nursing home.

She was born March 24, 1885, at Palco, Kan., and was married to Lawrence E. Holler in 1908 at Ogdan, Utah. Mr. Holler died in 1957.

They moved to Filer in 1921, where Mrs. Holler had lived since.

She was preceded in death by an infant son.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. H. N. (Beth) Schuyler, Filer; Mrs. Paul (Iva Lou) Carnahan, Twin Falls, and Mrs. Clyde (Irma) Dodge, Olympia, Wash.; two sons, Lawrence Holler, Burley, and Eugene K. Holler, Palmdale, Calif., three brothers, three sisters, 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are pending at White Mortuary, Twin Falls.
