15 YEAR OLD GIRL OF BROWNSVILLE TO WED M. CARRY

Marriage license was issued today after second attempt of Marvin Carry age 19 and Beulah B. Hughes age 15, both of Brownsville. Application was made May first for the license but as the girl was not 15 until May 3 the license could not be issued under the law. The father of the girl appeared on the scene today and gave his consent to the marriage.

Marion Carey

YACHATS — Marion W. Carey, 76, former Halsey and Brownsville resident and a resident of Waldport and Yachats for the past 34 years, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis. Burial follows at Pioneer Cemetery in Brownsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1900 near Halsey, where he was reared and educated. He married Beulah Hughes on May 10, 1920 in Brownsville. He farmed there until 1942 when they moved to Waldport and later to Yachats. While on the coast he logged and drove truck.

Survivors include his wife; a son Wilson of Mapleton; two daughters, Irene Whiteis of Brownsville and Mrs. Lamoil Jackson of Mapleton; two brothers, Everett of Halsey and Gilbert of Salem; three sisters, Mildred Bilyeu of Harrisburg, Mary Forry of Brownsville and Edith Gillette of Albany; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

FLORENCE — Beulah B. Carey, 81, of Florence, died Thursday.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Brownsville Cemetery. Murphy-Musgrove Riverside Chapel is making arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a son, Wilson Carey, Mapleton, daughters, Irene Whiteis, Brownsville, and LaMoil Jackson, Mapleton, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
