Mrs. Jennie Irvin, 68 years old, former resident of New Paris and Eaton died, Sunday at her home, 2217 East Third street, in Dayton. Mrs. Irvin was the wife of Earl H. Irvin former publisher of the Eaton Democrat.
Surviving are the husband, Earl H. Irvin two sons, Earl H. Irvin jr., and Robert Irvin five daughters Mrs. Martha Meisinger, Mrs. Ann Waldren, Mrs. Lois Brehm and Mrs. Earla Froebe, all of Dayon, and Mrs. Marjorie Foster of Middletown; one sister, Mrs. Andrew Houser, Seven Mile, and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Irvin were held Wednesday afternoon at the Charles W. Moore Funeral Home, Dayton. Rev. Ralph W. Parks officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.52
Earl H. Irvin, Sr., 71, a native of New Paris and a member of the state legislature representing Preble county from 1906 to 1909 and from 1911 to 1913, died Friday morning in the Miami Valley hospital in Dayton. He was taken to the hospital about 6:30 p. m. and died about fifteen minutes later from injuries suffered when he fell from the roof of the porch at his home, 2217 West Third street. Mr. Irvin who has lived in Dayton for 26 years since leaving Preble, worked as a tax counsellor and is the former editor of the Eaton Democrat, long since out of business.
His son earl, Jr., who brought his father to the hospital; said his father climbed out on the roof from a second story window before his fall.
Surviving besides the son, Earl Jr., are another son, Robert, of Dayton; five daughters, Mrs. Martha Meisinger, Mrs. A. Waldren, Mrs. Lois Brehm and Mrs. Earla Froebe, all of Dayton, and Mrs. Marjorie Hill, of New Haven, Conn., and 14 grandchldren.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Charles W. Moore Funeral home in Dayton with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.52
