Raymond W. Kopp

Raymond W. Kopp, 83, of Glenville, died Monday, July 1, at his residence.

Born Feb. 26, 1919 in Iron Ridge, Pa., he was a son of the late Irvin and Annie Phoebe Chronister Kopp. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie E. Greenwood Kopp.

He was a member of St. Paul's Dubs Church, Hanover. He also was a member of the Harold H. Blair Post 14, Hanover; VFW of Hanover and the NRA. He was employed as a rigger for Voith, York, for 28 years, retiring in 1981. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a farmer all of his life.

He is also survived by two sons, Gene Kopp and Stephen Kopp, both of Glenville; three daughters, Delores Woodward, Maureen Myers and Darlene Staub, all of Glenville; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Kopp of Simalic, Col.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with Rev. Katherine Smith officiating. Interment will be in rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by the Hanover Allied Veteran's Council.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
