Charles W. Lowry, 72, Dies Tuesday In Knightstown

Charles W. Lowry, 72, passed away at his home at 30 South Jefferson Street at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Lowry was a native of Knightstown and the son of the late Walter and Addie Lowry, pioneer residents of Knightstown. In 1904, he moved to Madison where he had a photographic studio until 1945, when he retired and returned to Knightstown with his family to make his home.

His wife, Ethel, and his daughter, Mrs. Ray Buckles, have operated the Lowry-Buckles Grocery in recent years. In his younger years, Mr. Lowry was a student of the Bible and had remained so his entire life..

He is survived by a wife, Ethel, one daughter, Mrs. Ray Buckles and one granddaughter, Linda Lou Buckles; all of Knightstown.

Funeral services will be held at the Moffitt-Schweizer Funeral Home Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Everett Murray of Columbus, Indiana, officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove cemetery. Friends may call at the Moffitt Schweizer Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Ethel Lowry

KNIGHTSTOWN — Mrs. Ethel Lowry, 86, R. 2 Knightstown, died Tuesday at Henry County Memorial Hospital.

She had been affiliated with Dawn Bible Student.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Bonnie) Buckles of Knightstown; a granddaughter and a grandson; a sister, Mrs. Emma Genet of Greenville, Ky., and a brother, John Miller of Arizona.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Butcher Funeral Home, Knightstown; with Ted Trzeciek of Portage and Gene Lewis of Knightstown officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
