Winslow-Marsh Wedding

A wedding which united two prominent families in Saline county, took place Thursday, September 1, at one o'clock p. m., at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence W. Winslow, near Shackelford, when their daughter, Miss Mildred Winslow was married to Mr. Paul D. Marsh.

The one hundred guests assembled were relatives and close friends of the contracting parties.

The wedding service was beautiful and impressive, and was read by Rev. A. M. MacLauchlin of Williamsburg, Mo., a former pastor of the Saline church.

The single ring ceremony was used. Before the ceremony Mrs. Wallace Grube sang, "I Love You Truly," and "At Dawning," with piano accompaniment, played by Miss Evelyn Dyer.

The bride and groom entered the living room, unattended, to the strains of Lohengrins wedding march played by Miss Dyer, and stood before an improvised altar banked with asparagus fern and pink and white cut flowers.

The bride wore an afternoon frock of combined blue georgette, embroidered in gold, and transparent velvet. She carried an arm bouquet of blue delphinium and pink roses.

Mrs. Marsh threw her bouquet from the stairway before leaving and it was caught by Mrs. Paul Knipmeyer.

The decorations in the dining room were pink and white, and a beautiful wedding cake formed a centerpiece for the dining table. A plate lunch was served.

Miss Helen Brown and Miss Mariah Edmonds presided over the guest book.

Mr. and Mrs. Marsh left for a two week's motor trip and will be at home after September 15 at their farm, near Shackelford. The bride's going away costume was an attractive suit of dark blue cloth with gloves and hat in a corresponding shade.

Many beautiful gifts, showered upon the happy couple, attested the esteem in which they were held by friends and relatives.
