Weekly Democrat-News, October 20, 192710724
The marriage of Miss Mariah Edmonds and Mr. Beverly Winslow took lace at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, October 19 at the country home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Lawrence B. Edmonds.
The marriage service was read by Rev. T. B. Harris, the single ring ceremony being used, and the service was simple but impressive, and carried that solemn note of sanctity, that makes the uniting in holy matrimony.
The wedding colors were pink, orchid and white. Large baskets of roses, dahlias and gladiolas were used throughout the house.
The bride wore an afternoon gown of French blue crepe, and carried an arm bouquet of sweetheart roses.
Her traveling suit was a brown velvet combination with hat, coat and shoes to match. After congratulations the bridal couple and guests were served a plate lunch.
On an eyelet embroidered lunch cloth in the center of the dining table rested a bride's cake.
Mr. and Mrs. Winslow left for a short wedding trip. They will be at home after November 15 on a farm a mile north of Shackelford.
