Oscar C. May

Oscar C. May, 74, husband of Mrs. Mellie Z. May, 127 South West street, died at 4 a.m. yesterday at York hospital.

He had been a butcher for 50 years and was a member of Grace Methodist church.

Surviving besides his wife is a brother, Ray S. May, Manchester RD 1.

Rev. Benjamin L. Stenger, his pastor, will officiate at funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Decker and Decker Funeral home, 550 West King street. Interment will be in Greenmount cemetery.

Mellie V. May; Centenarian

Mellie V. May, 101, formerly of 127 S. West St., died Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m. at Rest Haven.

She was the wife of the late Oscar C. May.

Mrs. May and her late husband were the owners and operators of the Oscar May Meat Market. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and its Sunday school department.

She was born Feb. 2, 1887, in Paradise Township, a daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Haar Stambaugh.

Survivors include:

A brother — Harry Stambaugh, of 1506 Stanton St.

A number of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc. 2290 School St., Shiloh.

The service will be 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Milton G. Killebrew, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
