Holtzschwamm—Staff Sgt. Gordon Coble, son of Mrs. Laura A. Coble, Dover, and Miss Etta Jane Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin W. Miller, East Berling, R. D. 3, were married recently at Westminster, Md.
Sgt. Coble has just returned from overseas where he served with the Eighth Air force as a tail gunner on a flying fortress. He has completed 35 missions over enemy territory. He holds the air medal with four oak leaf clusters and also the Distinguished Flying Cross. After a 22-day furlough he will report for reassignment at Miami Beach, Fla.

YORK - Allen J. Pittenger Sr., 83, of York, died at 5:18 a.m. Sunday at York Hospital. He was the husband of Etta J. (Miller) Pittenger. The couple observed their 49th wedding anniversary May 8.
The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home Inc., 2290 School St., Shiloh. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Pittenger was born April 28, 1917, in York. He was the son of the late George W. and Minnie M. (Forry) Pittenger.
He was a self-employed painter and paper hanger, retiring in 1981. He was a life member of Prince Athletic Association, where he was a former board member, and of Viking Athletic Association and South End Democratic Club.
Mr. Pittenger also is survived by a son, Allen J. Pittenger Jr. of Lake City, Fla.; six grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Dean R. Pittenger of Jacobus. Mr. Pittenger was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Pittenger.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas D. Bellis, pastor of Paradise United Church of Christ.
