MILLER—SMEACH

The wedding of Miss Josephine Grace Smeach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Smeach, and Alton Burnell Miller, son of Mrs. Jennie Miller, East Berling R. D. 3, and the late Ervin W. Miller, took place Saturday at 4 p. m. in St. Bartholomew's Union church. The Rev. A. M. Hollinger, pastor, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride was attired in a navy blue street-length dress with navy and white accessories and wore a corsage of red rosebuds. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Becker, East Berlin, brother-in-law and sister of the bridegroom, attended the couple. Mrs. Becker wore pink. Her accessories were navy blue and her corsage was of yellow rosebuds. A reception for about 75 guests was held in the Penn Community Hall, John street, following the ceremony. The bridegroom served 3 1/2 years with the army, including 18 months of active duty in the Inda-Burma theater, and is now employed by the York Corrugating Company. Mr. and Mrs. Miller will reside at the home of the bride's parents.

Alton B. Miller

Alton B. Miller, 71, of 40 Pine Grove Road, Hanover, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 5, at Hanover ahll.

He was the husband of Josephine Smeach Miller.

Born in York County, he was the son of the late Irvin and Jennie Stambaugh Miller.

Mr. Miller was in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, serving in the Berma India Theatre. He retired from York Corrugating Co. He was a member of Hawschwam United Church of Christ of Thomasville and the VFW of East Berlin.

He is survived by three brothers, Welton S. Miller of Dover, Irvin W. Miller of East Berlin and Glenn R. Miller of Thomasville; six sisters, Frances M. Crumbling of Hanover, Etta Jane Pittenger of York, Mary A. becker of York, Betty M. Baker of Hanover, Madeline N. Tolbert of York and Dorothy J. Leppo of East Berlin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Littles Funeral Home of Littlestown, with the Revs. Nelson Cheney and H. Thomas Miller officating. Interment will be in the York Road Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Holtzschwam United Church of Christ of Thomasville or St. Bartholomew's Lutheran Church of Hanover.
