Of unusual interest is the wedding which will take place tonight at 8:00, when Miss Pearl Louise Purviance, daughter of Mrs. J. A. Purviance, will become the bride of June P. Miller, Hereford, Tex.
Rev. Rupert Naney, pastor of the First Baptist church, Oklahoma City, will officiate at the ceremony, which will take place in the bride's home, south of the city, in the presence of family members and a few intimate friends.
Vows will be exchanged before an arrangement of large baskets of gladioli and tapers of white candles placed on either side of a wide east window of the home.
Preceding the ceremony, special music by Mrs. Phil Traband will include "I Love You Truly", Bond, and "Because" by d'Hardelot. She will be accompanied by Miss Helen Jenkins, who will also pay appropriate preludes and the traditional wedding music.
Miss Purviance will be gowned in a lovely white floor length dress of soft rayon with a small white woven dot. Dainty ruffles of the same material are gathered below the sweetheart neckline, with a larger ruffle at the bottom of a softly gathered skirt.
She will wear a halo of white roses and bavaria arranged around a band of white lace gathers. Over a small white Bible will be flowers matching those in her hair. A white linen handkerchief will be borrowed from the bridegroom's sister, Miss Betty Miller, Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Purviance's selection for the evening is a smart gown of blue crepe and a corsage of red roses.
Immediately following the wedding, guests will remain in the home for a reception. Mrs. J. P. Wicks, sister of the bride, will serve the cake after the bride eats the first piece. The three-tiered wedding cake will center the dining room table and be banked with fresh garden flowers. Other flower arrangements are to be used throughout the rooms of the home.
For travel, the bride will wear a trim tailored suit of white twill, waistline with black and white cutting. Her accessories will be a matching hat and bag of rayon taffeta and other accessories of white.
The couple will leave following the reception for a wedding trip to Amarillo, Tex.
Miss Purviance, member of a pioneer Logan county family is a graduate of Guthrie high school, and received her B. S. degree from A. and M. college at Stillwater. Since that time she has taught in various schools throughout the state.
Mr. Miller, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Miller, attended A. and M. college before his induction into the armed services, was connected with the sale of automobile parts. He has recently received his discharge from the U. S. Army, where he served with the Fifth air corps as a T-Sgt.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller will make their home in Hereford, Texas.
