M. D. ORANGE DIES IN WEST

News of the death of M. D. Orange, 55, a former Iowan, at Pilot Rock, Ore., of cancer was received in Des Moines Friday.

Mr. Orange was born at Moulton, Ia., reared near Centerville, Ia., went into the drug business in Oregon following his graduation from the old Highland Park College of Pharmacy.

Survivors are his wife and four children and his mother, Mrs. S. J. Orange, who lives with his sister, Mrs. Eva Woods, at Fort Des Moines. Mrs. Wood formerly operated the Woods grocery at 1124 Seventh st.

Adelaide E. Orange

Adelaide E. Orange died today in an Independence nursing home at the age of 74.

A native of Fort Berthold, N.D., she came to Oregon to attend Willamette University. She graduated from Willamette in 1917 as an elementary school teacher. She taught for a time in Eastern Oregon, but spent the last 22 years teaching in the Willamette Valley. She retired in 1962.

Mrs. Orange was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Labish Center Community Church. She made her home in Brooks.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jane Harper, Brooks; two sons, Dr. Philip G. Orange, Independence, and Craig J., San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Paul Tobie, and a sister, Ellen Chisholm, both of Spokane, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Labish Center Community Church. Interment will be in Brooks Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Howell-Edwards Chapel.

The family requested contributions be made in her memory to the Labish Center Community Church.
