At the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Stambaugh north of town on Thursday, June 25 at 9 p. m. was solemnized the wedding of their second daughter Edith Evelyn to Mr. Phil Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Smyth. Miss Lucile Stambaugh sister of the bride played the wedding march as the bride and groom came down the stairs preceded by the Rev. Francis Allen, minister of the first Baptist church.
The bride and groom took their place under an arch in the parlor where the minister pronounced the beautiful ceremony that made them husband and wife. The bride was attired in cream color hand embroidered crepe de chine. The color scheme in the parlor was green and white and in the dining room pink and white.
After congratulations and best wishes light refreshments were served to the guests by Miss Lucile Stambaugh, sister of the bride, and Misses Elsie Stambaugh, Esther Waybright and Vashti Piersol, cousins of the bride and superintended by Mrs. B. Piersol.
About forty of the nearest relatives of the bride and groom were present. They were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents which were on display during the evening.
The bride and groom are both will and favorably known in Ashland and community. for the past two years the bride has been a successful milliner at Yutan, while the groom is one of Saunders county's prosperous young farmers.
They will be at home to the many friends near Ashland.
There was only one out of town guest, Mrs. wallace Fulton, of Plainview, sister of the bride.
