Donald Stambaugh 57, Is Buried Here

Donald D. Stambaugh, 57, a former Ashland resident, died July 4 at Springfield, MO., and was buried at Ashland Monday afternoon after funeral services in the Marcy Chapel.

The Rev. B. F. Parnell officiated. Lloyd edwards sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset," with Mrs. Warren Robinson at the organ. Pallbearers were Elmer Welton, Wayne Backman, Harold Harmon, Forrest Pierce, George Hooker, and Ernest Barnes. The American Legion Post No. 128 was in charge of the committal service at the cemetery.

Donald Dewey Stambaugh was born at Ashland Aug. 22, 1899, the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Stambaugh. He attended public school here. He lived in Ashland until the past few years. For four years he has lived at Springfield.

He served in both World War I and World War II, and his health was severely impaired by his experiences in the second war.

About five years ago he joined the First Baptist church of Wilder, Idaho.

He is survived by three brothers, Herbert of Ashland, Maynard of Lansing, Mich., and Victor of Sacramento, Calif.; and by four sisters, Mrs. Wallace Fulton of Norfolk, Mrs. Phil Parker of Wilder, Idaho, Mrs. Roy Ely of Missoula, Mont., and Mrs. Orval Cornell of Omaha. Another sister, Mrs. RUssell King, preceded him in death.
