Walter C. Powers died Monday at the home of his son, Jay Powers, where he and his wife have spent the last few months, coming from their home at Orlando, Fla. Mr. Powers suffered a stroke of paralysis about two years ago, from which he never fully recovered. He was born at Mayville, Wis., in February, 1851, and was 77 years of age. He was married to Frances Hall in 1875. To this union were born seven children, three dying in infancy. The oldest daughter, Winnie, wife of George Grubb of Wetmore, died in 1903. Miss Ethel Powers and Ed Powers live in Florida, and Jay P. Powers lives near Wetmore. He is survived by his widow, who has been a constant companion to him through their many years of wedded life; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Netawaka Methodist church.
