Former Warsaw Merchant Dies At Plymouth

Cliffe Ruggles, 70, prominent Plymouth business man, formerly of Warsaw, died Thursday at 4:28 p. m. in the Parkview hospital, Plymouth.

Mr. Ruggles while in Warsaw owned and operated a drug store located in the building back of Philipson's clothing store on East Market street.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church and Masonic lodge of Plymouth. He married Ruth E. Thompson Nov. 10, 1913, in Warsaw. She survives him.

Other survivors include: one son, William A., Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Tanner, also of Plymouth; four grandchildren; one brother, Fred Ruggles, Solana Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Lola Elliott, of Laurel, Mont.

Mrs. Edna Deckard, and Herbert Thompson, of Warsaw, are sister and brother-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. (CST) at Johnson and Son funeral home, Plymouth. Rev. T. L. Paul will officiate. Burial will be in New Oak Park cemetery in that city. Friends will be received at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ruth Ruggles

PLYMOUTH — Mrs. Ruth Ruggles, 79, of 111 Webster Ave., died in Parkview Hospital at 10:45 a.m. Saturday after a three-month illness. She was born March 4, 1889, in Richmond. She lived in Plymouth since 1914. Her husband, Cliffe M. Ruggles, died in 1955. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Tanner of Plymouth; a son, William A., also of Plymouth; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Johnson Funeral Home, Rev. James Campbell of the Plymouth Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m today.
