Mr. and Mrs. D H. Scott and daughter, Miss Ruby, returned last evening from Boise, Idaho, where they have been for about a year. Mr. Scott says he wanted to stay this winter and let his family come to Iola but they refused to permit him to do so. "The fact that we were in a Mormon settlement probably accounts for my wife's aversion to me staying there alone," he said. Mr. Scott was in Boise when Haywood was tried and heard most of the trial.

Died: At the home of her parents in Iola on Wednesday, April 5, 1894, Bessie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Scott aged 8 years and 18 days.
Little Bessie was an uncommonly bright child, easily holding a place in the schools with many who were much older than herself. Some of her especial friends among her playmates are nearly heart broken over the loss of their little friend.
She had endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact and her parents and brothers and sisters have the deep sympathy of their friends in their sad bereavement.
