GARDEN CITY, L. I., Feb. 11 — Everett B. Scott, an executive in the offices of the New York Air Procurement District at 780 Broadway, died here Tuesday at his home, 17 Keenan Place. His age was 61.
Born in Kearney, Neb., he was graduated in 1916 from the University of Nebraska, where he was a track athlete. He served in World War I and later was an instructor in naval aviation at Pensacola, Fla.
Surviving are his widow, Mary; a daughter, Joan; a sister, Mrs. Gaylord Davis of Asheville, N. C., and a brother, Myron Scott of New York.

Everett B. Scott, chief of miscellaneous section, Production Services Branch, New York Air Procurement district, Middletown Air Material Area, New York City, died suddenly Feb. 9th at his home, 17 Keenan Place, Garden City, Long Island, N. Y., at the age of 61. He had been in government service for over 20 years.
He was born in Kearney, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Scott. He was graduated from the University of Nebraska, class of 1916. While attending the University of Nebraska he was an outstanding athlete and is remembered as having run the 100-yard dash in 9 4/5 seconds. He was a member of several honorary societies including The Innocents, Sigma Delta Chi, Viking and Iron Sphinx. He was secretary-treasurer of the Forestry club. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He recently attended the 50th anniversary of The Innocents held at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
He enlisted in World War I and served in the armed forces for four years. At the time of his discharge he was instructor in Naval Aviation at Pensacola, Fla. He was a member of the Belrose, Long Island Post No. 1294 of the American Legion. He was a member of the Torrington, Wyo. Masonic Lodge, and of the Metropolitan New York Club, University of Nebraska Alumni Association.
Mr. Scott was a direct descendant in the tenth generation of Captain John Scott, who as president of the Towns of Long Island in Feb. 1664 signed the armistice agreement with Peter Stuyvessant's government turning over the government of New Amsterdam to the English.
His survivors include his widow, Mary Elizabeth Scott, former Ashland resident and also a graduate of the University of Nebraska; a daughter, Joan Scott; a sister, Mrs. Gaylord Davis of Asheville, N. C., and a brother, Myron Scott of New York City. He was a brother-in-law of John and Clem Scott.
Services were held at the Fairchild Funeral Home, on Franklin Avenue, Garden City, Long Island, Friday morning, Febr. 12 at 11 o'clock.
