John Scott received word Monday of the death of an uncle, Richard M. Scott, who died Sunday in Denver, Colo., following a several weeks illness. The deceased will be remembered by many former friends in Ashland and vicinity. He was postmaster here for several years and also had a shoe store which was located in a building which is now a part of the Butler store. His wife, who has been dead several years, was the former Miss Dell Stratton, who was well known here. They had two children, Richard and Frances, who survive both parents and are living in Denver. Miss Frances Scott has been a frequent visitor in Ashland and has many warm friends who sympathize deeply with her and her brother in their loss.
Mrs. Edwin Fricke also received a message telling of Mr. Scott's death and she left Monday evening for Denver to be with Miss Scott until after the funeral.
G. L. Scott, who is now in Atlanta, Ga., is a brother of the deceased.
