Van Auken-Sherwin

Miss Josephine Van Auken, daughter of Mr. Joe Van Auken of this city, and Orville Sherwin, also of this city, were quietly married in Mobeetie, Texas, by the Justice of the Peace of that place, on August the fourth.

Mrs. Sherwin graduated from the Elk City High School in 1926, and has since been employed at the Donchin Dry Goods Store. Mr. Sherwin was also a graduate of the class of '26, and has for the past two years been connected with the Williamson-Hasell-Frasier Co.

The wedding was kept secret until last Sunday, September 9, when the young couple left for Los Angeles, Calif., for a two weeks wedding trip.
