She was born October 6, 1846 in Campton, Grafton, New Hampshire,2363 and died March 27, 1916 in Stockton, Cedar, Missouri.8913 She is buried in Gum Springs Cemetery, Stockton, Cedar, Missouri.456

Mary Adelaide Shedd Sherwin was born Oct. 6, 146 in the village of Campton, New Hampshire. She was married to Sidney Orville Sherwin June 22, 1871. To this union were born nine children seven of whom still survive. She united with the Congregational church when a girl. In 1894 she moved with her husband and family to their present location three miles south west of Stockton Cedar Co. Shortly afterward she united with the M. E. Church of Stockton. About seven years ago she transfered her membership to the Presbyterian church, to which she belonged at time of death. Funeral services were held at the home March 29th at 1:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. Douglass. Interment was in Gum Springs cemetery.

Mr. S. O. Sherwin passed away this morning at 3 o'clock at the home of his son, H. A. Sherwin and family of 221 North Fourth street following a long illness, aged 76 years. The funeral arrangements ?? be announced until tomorrow, awaiting the arrival of relatives.

Ralph Sherwin of St. Louis and Herbert Sherwin of Iola, Kansas arrived here Monday evening to look after the farm their father owned southwest of town. They brought the sad news that their father had passed away at Iola, Kansas on last Friday morning.
S. O. Sherwin and family came to Cedar county in the winter of 1894-95 and located on the farm which was the family home until 1916. They came here from South Dakota.
Mr. Sherwin was a good man, took active interest in Sunday School and church work and all matter pertaining to education and upbuilding of the community. He was about 75 years old. His wife died in 1916 and since that time he had been making his home at Iola, Kansas and near Elk City, Oklahoma.
There were nine children in Mr. Sherwin's family six of whom are living, Ralph, chemist for the American Aluminum Co. of St. Louis, Edward a stock raiser near Elk City, Melvin who is at the head of the Agriculture Department of the North Carolina University, Mrs. Myra Adams who lives in California, Herbert and Miss Josie of Iola Kansas. Alice and Will died while living in this county and Mrs. Anna Hoerning died at Iola, Kansas, nearly two years ago.
Old neighbors and friends of the sons and daughters extend deepest sympathy.
The funeral services were held in Iola and interment was made at the city.
