John F. Flickinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant T. Flickinger, of Hanover, and Miss Anna M. Stambaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stambaugh, of 722 Manor street, this city, were married last Sunday at 8 a. m. at the Reformed Parsonage in this city, by the Rev. John J. Stauffer. Following the ceremony a reception was tendered the young couple at the bride's home. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Stambaugh and daughter Emma, Brillhart's; Mr. and Mrs. John Stambaugh, Dallastown; Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Stambaugh and son Ervin, Mr. and Mrs. John Roland and son Clarence, and Miss L. Utz, York; Mr. and Mrs. Grant T. Flickinger and daughters, Myrtle and Carrie, of Hanover. After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Flickinger left on a brief trip. THe bridegroom is a graduate of the Hanover High school and is assistant bookkeeper in the office of the Hanover Printing company.

Mrs. Annie M. Stambaugh Flickinger, 86, of 33 W. Walnut St., died today at 4:43 a.m. at Hanover General Hospital. She was the wife of John E. Flickinger, and they were married for 65 years in October 1978.
Born in York County, Mrs. Flickinger was a daughter of the late Bert E. and Amelia Utz Stambaugh. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and Sunday school and a member of the YWCA.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: one daughter, Mrs. Walter E. (Madalyn) Maust St., 425 S. Franklin St.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, with her pastor, the Rev. Carroll C. Luckenbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening. The family suggests contributions be sent to the Trinity United Church of Christ Memorial Fund or the Visiting Nurse Association.

John E. Flickinger, 88, of 33 West Walnut St., died at 1:19 p.m. Monday at the Golden Age Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Annie M. Stambaugh Flickinger who died July 28, 1979.
Born in Hanover, he was the son of the late Graneille and Christiniana Shaffer Flickinger.
He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ. He was a life member of the Eagle Fire Company and a member of the Order of the Mystic Chain Lodge. He was a graduate of the Hanover High School.
He had been employed by the Evening Sun for 34 years before retiring in 1963. He had started in the circulation and advertising department on July 8, 1929, and eventually worked his way up to manager of the circulation department. He had previously been employed at the former Record-Herald from 1911 until 1929.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Madalyn( E. Maust St., 425 South Franklin St.; a sister, Myrtle Flickinger, 130 York St., three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway with the Rev. Carroll Cluckenbaugh presiding. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 York St., or the Century Trust Fund in care of the Trinity United Church of Christ.
