HEART FAILS WHEN HE RISES

J. L. Stanley, Veteran of the War, Falls Dead at His Home

HAD NOT BEEN ILL AT ALL

James L. Stanley of 1110 Thirteenth street died suddenly at his home at 6:30 o'clock last evening of heart weakness. He was sitting on a chair and had just got up to go for supper when he fell over. A doctor was called but he was dead when he arrived. He has for the past week stayed home as he was unable to work but they did not suspect that it was his heart that was failing him.

Mr. Stanley was employed at the Moline Elevator Co.'s for several years and was well known in this city. He was born in Plainesville, Ohio, Oct. 12, 1838. He moved to Peoria and from there, in the year 1883, he came to this city, where he has lived ever since. He was a veteran of the civil war, when he served in the First Illinois cavalry and also in the Seventh Missouri cavalry.

He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife two daughters, Mabel and Lotta, and one son, Robert, all at home.

The funeral will be held from the home at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.
