Ben J. Sutherland, 61, proprietor of the Schofield cottages in Kilbourn, died June 7. Burial was in Monroe, his birthplace.

Mrs. Sutherland

Mrs. Octavia Julia Sutherland, 87, widow of the late Benjamin J. Sutherland, Albany, died Sunday night at a Madison nursing home after a long illness.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Merle Van Tassell, Madison; a step-daughter, Mrs. Paul J. Weirich, Monroe; two sons, Herbert S., Brainerd, Minn., and A. T., Madison; a granddaughter, Mrs. William Zunke, Akron, O.; two grandsons, First Lieut. Newman Van Tassel, with the army forces in England, and Naval Aviation Cadet Jack Sutherlan, Murray, Ky., and two sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 9 a. m. Tuesday in the Frautschi funeral home, the Rev. R. M. Atkins of the First Methodist church officiating. BUrial will be at Monroe.
