Eugene City Guard, June 21, 18907160

DIED.—Near Jasper, Oregon, June 11th, 1890, Mr. C. R. Sylvester, aged 70 years. He was born in 1821 in the state of New York, where he spent the early part of his life, thence moving to Wisconsin where he remained until 1844, when he moved to Oregon. Since living in Oregon he and his son, B. F., were engaged in the grist mill business at that place. They had secured a nice trade and were doing well, and as "Uncle Charley" was the "main stay," it was a heavy blow on the family. He leaves three children and a loving wife to mourn his los.
