Donald E. "Knut" Knudsen

Went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.

Survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Arla J. Knudsen (nee Schroll). Devoted father to Daniel (Angela) of Plainfield, and Dana Knudsen of Malibu, CA. Proud Papa to Stephanie, Alex, and Megan.

One brother Robert (Dorothy) Knudsen of Bourbonnais, two sisters Marjorie (Donald) Bressner of Pontiac, and Jane (Richard) Tinker of Cullom.

Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Also survived by many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Minnie (nee Street), one sister Helen Chamberlain, and three brothers Everett, Richard and John and Vincent Knudsen.

Retired from the Stateville Correctional Center after 33 years of loyal service.

Member of the Plumber and Pipefitters Local 422.

Lying in state at Messiah Lutheran Church, Friday, January, 11, from 9:30 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. With Rev. Louis Quetel and Rev. David Nygard officiating.

Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, on Thursday, from 4-8 PM.
