BARNES, Walter E., age 83, of 3231 Martel Dr., Dayton, passed away Monday, Miami Valley hospital. He was a retired Operator for the City Transit Company for 39 years. Survivors are his wife, Hazel A.; 2 sons, Claude W. and Robert L.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Julia Noll, Mrs. Clara Kothman, and Mrs. Nan Peffley; 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. He was a member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church, John W. Durst Lodge No. 716, F.&A.M. Services 10 a.m. Thursday, Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 East Dorothy Lane. Rev. B. Lawrence Sweeney officiating. Burial Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends my call Wednesday 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Linden Avenue memorial Fund.

She is survived by sons, Claude W. & Robert L., both of Dayton; 1 sister, Ruth Schiegel, Dayton; 2 grandchildren, Robert L. Barnes, of Dayton & Judy Haskins, of Columbus; 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane with Rev. C. DOnald Thrash officiating. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
