WILLIAM S. DAVIS DIES AT ALDERWOOD HOME FRIDAY NIGHT

William S. Davis, 58, died at his home at Alderwood Manor, late Friday after a brief illness. Mr. Davis was born in Warsaw, Mo., and came to Alderwood Manor seven years ago. He was in charge of the safety deposit box department of the First National bank, was prominent in civic affairs of both Everett and Snohomish county, and took a leading part in the Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Davis of Alderwood Manor; two daughters, Florence and Mary Elizabeth Davis, both at home; two sons, John and Joseph Davis, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Owens and Mrs. Grace Ames. both of Warrensbury, Mo., and a brother, Dr. H. S. Davis of Clatakanie, Oregon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the funeral home of E. E. Purdy and Sons, inc., with the Rev. Mr. Burgess of Alderwood Manor in charge. THe casket is open to friends at the funeral home of E. E. Purdy and Sons, inc.

Mrs. W. S. Davis

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth M. Davis, 85, of Stayton, Ore., were today in the Purdy & Walters chapel, Everett. Burial will be in Evergreen. She died Sunday in a Tacoma nursing home, where she had lived the past four months.

Mrs. Davis' son, Joseph H. Davis, of Seattle, is president of the State Labor Council.

A native of Celine County, Mo., Mrs. Davis lived in Alderwood Manor 36 years before going to Stayton five years ago. She was the widow of William S. Davis.

Surviving besides her son are another son, John D. Davis, Stayton; two daughters, Mrs. William Peters, Tacoma, and Mrs. Walter Lewisohn, Yorktown Heights, N. Y., and two sisters, Belle and Alice McClelland, both of Olathe, Kan.

The family suggests remembrances to the Elizabeth M. Davis Memorial Library Fund, in care of James Sharpe, Everett Junior College, Everett.
