Telegrams Carry News Of Mother's And Wife's Death

TURLOCK, Jan. 29.—Telegrams on Saturday night announcing the deaths of a mother and wife, one at Turlock and the other at Watertown, South Dakota, were sent within a few hours of each other, it was learned to-day.

While Fred C. Englesby was sending a message to his brother, Henry E. at Watertown, telling of the death of their mother at Turlock, the brother was preparing a telegram announcing the death of his wife at that place.

The mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Englesby, died at Turlock at 8 P. M. and the brother's wife, Mrs. Emma Englesby, died at Watertown at 7 P. M.
