Mr. and Mrs. George Gibbons Guests At Dinner In Celebration Of Fifty Years Of Marriage

A dinner was held recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Gibbons, Hanover R. D. 2, in honor of the couple on their fifitieth wedding anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Gibbons were married Nov. 30, 1902, in the West Manheim Lutheran parsonage, Pleasant street, by the Rev. J. A. Metzger. Mrs. Gibbons is the former Mary E. Boyer. They are the parents of the following children: John GIbbons, Hanover R. D. 2; George Gibbons, Dundalk, Md.; Mrs. Richard Rhodes, Funkstown, Md.; Mrs. William Thoman, Brodbecks R. D.; Mrs. Nevin Goodline, York; andMrs. William Senft, York; and the late Luther Gibbons. They have 21 grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

JOSEPH F. GIBBONS

Joseph F. Gibbons, 90, husband of Mary E. Gibbons, died at 1:40 p.m. yesterday at the home of a son, John A. Gibbons, Hanover R.D. 3, where he resided. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Gibbons. He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of St. Paul's (Dubs') union Church and Sunday school. Surviving are the widow, the son and five other children, Mrs. Mary Senft and Mrs. Nevin Goodling, both of York; George F. Gibbons, Dundalk, Md.; Mrs. Edna Thoman, Glen Rock R.D. 2; Mrs. Emma Rhodes, Funkstown, Md.; 21 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Jackson and Womer funeral home, 205 Carlisle Street, by the Rev. Harvey M. Light, his pastor. Burial will be ind Dubs' Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow evening.

Mrs. Mary E. Gibbons

HANOVER — Mrs. Mary E. Gibbons, 90, Hanover RD 2, widow of Joseph L. Gibbons, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday at the Hanover General Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late George and Katherine Stambaugh Boyer and was a member of St. Paul's (Dubs') United Church of Christ congregation.

She is survived by two sons and four daughters, John A. Gibbons, Hanover RD2; George Gibbons, Dundalk, Md.; Mrs. Mary Senft, York; Mrs. Eva Goodling, West York; Mrs. Edna Thoman, Glen Rock, and Mrs. Richard Rhodes, Funkstown, Md.; 20 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren, and two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mamie Miller, Mrs. Margie Sullivan, George and Luther Boyer, all of Hanover.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, with her pastor, the Rev. Harvey M. Light, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.
