Nevin S. Goodling, 83, of West York, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Eva J. (Gibbons) Goodling. The couple would have observed the 51st anniversary of their wedding July 20.
The service will be 10 a.m.. Thursday at the Church of the Open Door of Shiloh, 9 Carlisle Court, York. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus, with military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Heffner Funeral Home of York Inc., 1701 W. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodling was born in York. He was the son of the late Allen C. and Grace M. (Kinsey) Goodling.
He retired from Smith Village, Jacobus, where he was a furniture buyer and decorator for over 20 years. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door of Shiloh, of Free and Accepted Masons Zeredatha Lodge 451, the Scottish Rites of Valley of Harrisburg, the Reliance Ambulance Club, and American Association of Retired Persons. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Goodling also is survived by two sons, Larry V. Goodling of York, and R. Thomas Goodling of Elkridge, Md.; a daughter, Shirley Potts of York; 13 grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, James Goodling of York, and Clifton Goodling of Ruston, La.; three sisters, Kathryn Rehmeyer of Dover, Mary Louise VanArtsdalen of Jacobus, and Geraldine Ryston of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Brown.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. William J. Hampton.

Eva Juliann Gibbons Goodling of York died at 1:45 a.m. Sept. 28 at Manor Care North. She was 82.
Mrs. Goodling was a homemaker.
She was a member of Church of the Open Door of Shiloh.
She was a member of AARP.
Born in Hanover, Aug. 21, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary E. Boyer Gibbons. She was the wife of the late Nevin S. Goodling.
She leaves a daughter, Shirley Potts, York; two sons, Larry V. Goodling, York, and Ramon T. Goodling, Elk Ridge, Md.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary K. Senft and Edna Thoman, both of York; and a brother, John A. Gibbons.
A daughter, Kay Brown, is deceased.
There will be no viewing. The committal service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Jacobus, with her pastor, the Rev. William J. Hampton, officiating.
