A wedding was quietly solemnized recently in this city by which Miss Olive Reid became the wife of Robert E. Lipton of Ida Grove, Iowa. Mr. Lipton departed immediately for the east; and on December 26 his bride went to join him in Ida Grove, where he is engaged in business.
As Miss Olive Reid, Mrs. Lipton was one of the popular girls of the social set. She is the daughter of Mrs. R. M. Ried, a niece of Daniel Grey Reid, railroad magnate of New York; a graduate of the San Jose normal school and a very charming young woman. For several years she has been a successful teacher in one of the local schools.
Mr. Lipton is a banker of Ida Grove, Iowa. He comes of a wealthy family and is a cousin of Mrs. W. K. Vanderbilt, Jr. and Mrs. Herman Oelrichs, also of New York. Both the young people have many friends who wish them much happiness.

Olive Frances Lipton, 83, the daughter of the first white woman born at Sutter's Fort, died Sunday in Watsonville Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was a native of Watsonville and lived at 1377 Cole Road in Aromas. Before her retirement she taught school here for 30 years. She was a member of the Iowa chapters of the Eastern Star and White Shrine.
She leaves her husband, Robert E. Lipton of Aromas; three sisters, Letitia Oakes and Lea Reid, both of Redwood City and Bertha Seely of Los Gatos; and nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Robert Reid of Watsonville.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Oak Hill Mortuary's Drawing Room Chapel in San Jose. Burial will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Funeral services Thursday, March 25, 1971 at 10 a.m. from Oak Hill Mortuary's Drawing Room Chapel, 300 Curtner Ave. Interment Oak Hill Memorial Park.
