A wedding of interest to Frederick society was that of Miss Henrietta Virginia Sayre, of Wabash, Indiana, and Ensign Edgar Raymond McClung, of Muncie, Indiana, which occurred at the home of the bride's aunt in Wabash, Ind., on Wednesday, Jun 12. Both the bride and groom are well-known in this city.
Miss Sayre is a graduate of the Woman's College in the class of 1911, and was one of the most popular pupils at the institution. She was editor of the Lesbian Herald and won a number of prizes on her essay work. During the time she was a student here she made many friends in Frederick.
Ensign McClung graduated from the Naval Academy in last year's class. He frequently visited in Frederick. Two of Miss Sayre's attendants were Miss Musser and Miss Herman, both students of the Woman's College. Mr. Lewis R. Dertzbaugh, this city, who was to have been one of the ushers, was compelled to cancel his engagement to take part in the ceremony.

Margaret Harvey "Peggy" McClung, 104, a widow of a retired Navy officer who was active in civic organizations, died of congestive heart failure Jan. 11 at the Washington Home.
Mrs. McClung, who was born in Portland, Ore., came to the Washington area in the early 1970s with her husband, retired Navy Capt. Edgar Raymond McClung, whom she married in 1931. She was active in the Salvation Army in Washington and was a member of the Chevy Chase Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Presbyterian Church in Washington.
In the years before settling in Washington, she accompanied her husband on his military assignments in the United States and abroad. She also accompanied him to Southeast Asia as he worked as an engineering consultant to the Navy Department and State Department. Capt. McClung died in 1974.
Her first husband, Richard H. Abel, died in 1927. Survivors include a stepson, Edgar Raymond McClung, of Boca Raton, Fla.
