Miller—Sullivan

Miss Esther D. Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Sullivan, Hanover R. 3, and Glenn R. Miller, son of Mrs. Jessie Miller, East Berlin R. 3, and the late Irvin Miller, were married Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the HOltzschwamm Union church, Thomasville R. 1. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Rinehart. A reception was held after the ceremony in the Porters Community Fire Company hall, Porters Sideling. Mrs. Miller is employed by the Jackson Shoe company, Mr. Miller by the Read-Standard company, York. They will reside at the bride's home.

Glenn R. Miller

THOMASVILLE

Glenn R. Miller, 80, entered into God's eternal care Friday, January 7, 2011, at his home with his loving family by his side. Glenn was the loving husband of Esther I. (Sullivan) Miller, to whom he was married 59 years.

Born June 5, 1930, in East Berlin, he was the son of the late Irvin W. and Jennie E. (Stambaugh) Miller.

Glenn was a member of Hanover Church of the Brethren, Hanover.

Glenn was a dairy farmer all of his life. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by one son, Richard A. Miller of West York; one daughter, Brenda L. Dell of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Amy M. Livingston, Adam S. Livingston, and Brian J. Miller; three great-grandchildren, Katie, Collin and Jordyn; and four sisters, Etta J. Pittenger of York, Mary A. Becker of York, Betty M. Baker of Hanover, and Madeline N. Tolbert of York. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances M. Crumbling and Dorothy Leppo; and five brothers, Irvin N. Miller, Alton B. Miller, Welton Miller, Raymond Miller, and Donald Miller.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Glenn's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Ave., Hanover, with his pastor, the Rev. Geraldine Godfrey, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Have Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, as well as from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Glenn may be made to the Accessibility Fund at Hanover Church of the Brethren, 601 Wilson Ave., Hanover, PA 17331.

Esther I. Miller

Thomasville - Esther I. (Sullivan) Miller, 88, of Thomasville, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Friday, May 31, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side.

Born December 10, 1930, in Deep Run, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Annie V. (Garvick) Sullivan. Esther was the loving wife of the late Glenn R. Miller with whom she shared fifty-nine years of marriage until his passing on January 7, 2011.

Esther was a member of Hanover Church of the Brethren, Hanover, PA, and the New Life Sunday School Class.

Esther retired after twenty-five years as a housekeeper at The Brethren Home.

Esther enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing her guitar, watching baby blue birds, and especially spending time with her family.

Esther is survived by her son, Richard A. Miller of West York, PA, her daughter, Brenda L. Dell of Thomasville, PA; three grandchildren, Amy M. Livingston, Adam S. Livingston, and Brian J. Miller; three great-grandchildren, Katie, Collin, and Jordyn; and a sister, Helen Yingling. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert A. Sullivan, Harold G. Sullivan, David L. Sullivan, and Marlin Sullivan; and one sister, Mary M. Cunningham.
